A FUN GUIDE TO THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD

DIVE INTO A WORLD WHERE EVERY KIDDO SHNIES! DISCOVER THE RULES MAKING EVERY KIDDO A SUPERHERO. UNCOVER WHY EVERY CHILD'S STORY MATTERS!

A PUG-TASTIC PEAK INTO KID'S RIGHTS!

1. You have the right to be alive and kickin'. (Like superheroes!)
2. You have the right to a cool name and to belong to a country. (Imagine being named "Starlight Moonbeam!")
3. You should be with your family, unless it's better for you to be somewhere else.*(Like at a super fun summer camp.)
4. You have the right to learn and go to school. (Yep, even math class!)
5. You have the right to be healthy and see a doctor when you're sick. (No more sniffles!)
6. You have the right to play games and chill out. (Ever played 'Pug-tag'? Best. Game. Ever.)
7. You can share your thoughts, and grown-ups should listen. (Like when you say broccoli should be a dessert.)
8. You have the right to your secrets and private moments. (Your secret base? Totally off-limits.)
9. You have the right to be safe and sound. (Like being wrapped in a cozy burrito blanket.)
10. If possible, you should be raised by your parents. (They know how you like your sandwiches cut!)
11. You should be kept safe from scary wars. (Peace, love, and dance-offs only.)
12. If you have a disability, you get extra care. (Everyone deserves a chance to shine!)
13. You have the right to see a doc, drink clean water, and eat yummy food. (Pizza counts, right?)
14. You have the right to a cozy home and all you need. (Stuffed animal mountain included!)
15. You can practice your culture, beliefs, and speak your language. (Or create your own secret language!)
16. You can get info from books, TV, and more. (Definitely recommend the cool "Hi Pug" series!)
17. You shouldn't be doing jobs that are too hard or dangerous. (Like wrestling alligators. Stick to water balloon fights.)
18. You should always feel safe, with zero bullies. (Only hugs allowed!)
19. Stay away from harmful stuff and drugs. (But rainbow sprinkle cookies? Go for it!)
20. You should always be safe from anyone being mean or creepy. (Imagine a world where superhero pugs patrol and keep the baddies away.)

Q & A with Emmy, Kyraie & Stan

Q: Hey, is it true you've got three real-life pugs?

A: Totally! Fun fact: they all popped out of the same litter and they are twinsies with their book characters – no kidding!

Q: So which pug's the biggest and all about adventures?

A: That's gotta be Queenie! She's the big sis and always up for some fun and mischief. If there's a playful challenge, Queenie's on it.

Q: And what's the deal with Princess?

A: Princess is kinda in the middle – not as big as Queenie and not as tiny as Goddess. She's got this apricot fur and she's a bit fancy. But watch out – she's super fast when she runs!

Q: Who's the cutie with the big "aww" eyes?

A: Oh, that’s our little Goddess! She's full of surprises. Sometimes we think she's part mountain goat with those jumps of hers!

Q: Why write books about pugs?

A: Pugs are like walking happiness bombs! They're always ready for playtime, and just being around them feels like a mini party. So we thought, who better to spread happiness than our pug pals?

Q: So, what's with all this talk about kids' rights?

A: Okay, here's the thing: there’s this super important list from the United Nations that says kids are superstars and our voices matter! Sometimes grown-ups do all the talking, but hey, we have epic thoughts too! We scribbled, doodled, and wrote our books to yell out, “Kids have BIG ideas, and they're just as cool as grown-up ones! Plus, ours come with pug-tastic fun!”

Q: Why did you guys choose to write about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child? That sounds kinda grown-up, doesn’t it?
A: We thought, "Hey, it's all about kids, right?" So why should only grown-ups talk about it? We wanted to spread the word in our own fun way, with a sprinkle of pug magic! It's super important, and guess what? We think even super important stuff can be fun!

Q: Okay, spill the beans! How did you first hear about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child?
A: Oh, that's a fun story! One day, we stumbled upon this big, fancy-looking paper at school. It had all these cool points about kids. We read it, and were like, "Whoa! This is epic!" Then we dived deeper, learned loads, and thought, "Let's share this with the world... but let's add some pug sparkle to it!"

Q: Ok kiddos, I've got a challenge for you! If you could sum up the whole United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in just one sentence, what would it be?
A: Easy-peasy! It's all about making sure every kid around the world is treated awesomely and gets to live their best life!

Q: Alright, here's a sneaky one. Do you know any specific rights from the Convention? And no peeking!
A: Oh, bring it on! One of our faves is that every kid has the right to share their thoughts and be taken seriously. It's like saying, "Hey world, kids have cool ideas too!"

Q: So, is this Convention only for kids in certain countries or certain ages?
A: Nope! The cool thing is, it's for ALL kids, everywhere, no matter how young or old they are. From tiny tots to almost-grown-ups!

Q: Here's a fun twist! If one of your pugs could talk and share a right from the Convention, which one would it be?
A: Haha, knowing Princess, she'd totally bark out, "Every kid has the right to play, rest, and free time!" Because, you know, pug playtime is the BEST time!

Q: Okay, last question! Some say these rights are just words on paper. What do you think?
A: Words are powerful! They're like little magic spells. And when grown-ups, kids, and even pugs work together, we can turn those words into real-life magic for kids everywhere!
